NEWS:

SEPTEMBER 14 th, 2007

Michael here, editor of the section you don't ever read. I just got back from the Toronto International Film Festival where I spent a week watching movies where young girls travel to the south of France to have sexual awakenings. Be sure to check out the October issue for the full run down of 2.5% of the films that were playing there.

In addition to that, we'll hopefully be having a chat with Stuart Gordon, director of The Re-Animator and Robot Jox. His latest film Stuck screened at TIFF and is about Mena Suvari (jail bait from American Beauty) running over Stephen Rea (dude who got tricked by another dude in The Crying Game). Rea then gets STUCK in her windshield and she refuses to help him. There's nudity in the publicity stills so you know it's great.

DVDs getting reviewed this month include Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive, Dario Argento's The Stendhal Syndrome and Jack Hill's Spider Baby.

The Nerve hit the streets of Regina for the first time this month to rave reviews. To quote a new reader, “Oh my God, where have you been all my rock ‘n’ roll life?” The answer? Flying over you to Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec? BUT NOT ANY MORE! Thanks to Shane Grass who’s spearheading our conquering of Saskatchewan via Regina.

And while we are at it, never ship Greyhound, they don’t know what they are doing. Thanks to Douglas Ko in Montreal for spreading the word. He runs a record label called SLUM - check that shit out.
